Asha is a teenager living in the Kingdom of Rosas. She senses uncommon darkness in the ruler King Magnifico. She pleads to the night sky for help in understanding and is shocked when it answers. A star called Star falls from above and answers her wish. Together Asha and Star must find a way to battle the oncoming darkness and save the people of Rosas.
Wish is an upcoming animated musical fantasy movie from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The studio is responsible for some of the biggest most iconic animated movies of all time including the likes of Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King. Wish is the 62nd animated feature movie from the studio and is directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn. Buck is known for directing both Frozen and Frozen II, while Veerasunthorn has worked on movies such as Raya and the Last Dragon and Moana. The screenplay for Wish is handled by Jennifer Lee and Allison Moore. David Metzger, who has composed music for multiple Disney movies including Frozen and Tarzan, is taking care of the score for the movie.
The cast of Wish is led by multi-award-winning actress and singer Ariana DeBose. Noted for her roles on Broadway and in the movie West Side Story, DeBose voices Asha, a teenage girl who wishes on a star. She is joined in the cast by Chris Pine who voices King Magnifico. Pine is best known for his roles in Star Trek and Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Alan Tudyk voices Valentino the goat who gains the ability to speak.
