Isabel Conklin is a teenage girl who wants to grow up and attain independence. She spends the summer at Cousin's Beach with her mother and brother, along with her mother's lifelong best friend and her two sons, Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Isabel grows close to both boys and the result is a love triangle that proves difficult for Isabel. For the young woman, the perfect summer on the beach is interrupted by learning what it means to grow up. The series is based on a book of the same name written by Jenny Han.
