Daredevil returns to the MCU with Wilson Fisk in hot pursuit

Matt Murdock is a brilliant legal mind and a righteous vigilante known to the world as Daredevil. Blinded as a young boy, he was brought up in an orphanage and trained to fight by his mentor Stick, a blind martial arts master. Fighting petty crime across Hell’s Kitchen brought Daredevil face-to-face with his long-time nemesis Wilson Fisk, a powerful mob boss known as Kingpin. The villain and the vigilante have been battling each other for years. In Born Again, their paths cross in what is set to be their most violent high-stakes encounter yet.

What to know

Daredevil returns to the MCU with an 18-episode season

Daredevil: Born Again is an upcoming superhero television series produced by Marvel Studios. The show is a sequel to the Daredevil series that ran on Netflix between 2015-18. Despite this, it acts as a standalone show and is part of Phase Five of the MCU. Clocking in at 18 episodes the show will stream exclusively on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again is executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord with Kevin Feige also on board as an executive producer. Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson of Loki fame are the directors of the show while Dario Scardapane is the showrunner.

After a few teasing cameos in other MCU titles, Charlie Cox is confirmed to return for his own outing as Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Few MCU actors have been as beloved by fans as Charlie Cox when playing the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the initial three-season outing. His is not the only return keeping continuity with the previous show created by Drew Godard. Having had a quick cameo of his own in the MCU, Vincent D’Onofrio dons the pristine white blazer again playing Kingpin/Wilson Fisk. D’Onofrio is known for his restrained performance as the villainous crime boss. Both actors who are confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again, will have their first onscreen reunion in the Marvel show Echo. Joe Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle and Sandrine Holt takes over the role of Vanessa Fisk. The wider cast includes Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini and Nikki M. James
