Halloween (1978)

Despite the many popular 2024 releases on this list, John Carpenter’s Halloween will always be the most popular choice for what to watch on October 31st, 2024. If you are interested in diving deeper into the franchise, we also have a guide to watching every Halloween movie in order.

Longlegs

Longlegs was released in July 2024 and quickly became a box office hit. In fact, the horror flick became the highest-grossing independent film of the year and the highest-grossing movie produced by Neon.

Alien: Romulus

From horror director Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead), Alien: Romulus is the first Alien movie to be released since Disney acquired the rights to the franchise. We also have a guide for how to watch the Alien franchise in order.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Starring Michael Keaton alongside his Beetlejuice co-star Winona Ryder and Jenna Orgeta, Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice marks the return of the off-beat “bio-exorcist”. It was released in theaters in September and is now available to stream online – just in time for Halloween.

From M Night Shyamalan, the acclaimed director of The Sixth Sense, Trap centers on a serial killer who must evade attempts to find him at a pop concert. As with any Shyamalan movie, expect the unexpected.
