Alien: Romulus is produced by Ridley Scott through the Scott Free Productions banner as well as 20th Century Studios. Alien: Romulus is directed by Fede Alvarez, a filmmaker known for Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, and The Girl in the Spider’s Web. Alvarez also handles the script alongside Rodo Sayagues who wrote the movies Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, and Don’t Breathe 2.
Alien: Romulus features an ensemble cast led by Cailee Spaeny, an actress best known for her portrayal of Priscilla Presley in the movie Priscilla. Isabela Merced also stars in the movie having featured in the films Rosaline, Father of the Bride, and Sweet Girl. Star of the independent romantic comedy Rye Lane, David Jonsson, also stars in the movie. The cast also includes Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.
This Fede Alvarez take on the Alien universe is not a direct sequel to Alien: Covenant, nor any other Alien movie. Alien: Romulus is a standalone movie and serves as an original entry into the franchise.
