Karan Johar just delighted all his fans by confirming the news of Koffee with Karan Season 8 by releasing a hilarious teaser promo. The first episode of Season 8 will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 26th October, 2023. The rest of the episodes will continue to follow a weekly episodic release similar to the previous seasons.

Karan Johar shared a one and a half minute teaser video on his personal Instagram handle to announce the upcoming release of the latest season of Koffee with Karan. Shot in the format of a roast, this hilarious video sees Karan Johar battling with his own conscience which is tackling all of the negative comments he has received over the past few years from internet trolls.
Karan addresses topics such as inviting kids of famous celebrities to the PR disaster that happened when he invited two cricketers to appear on the show. He also owns up to his taking on too many brand sponsorship deals, and his lengthy monologues that have been the butt of many jokes.
All in all, Karan Johar embraces the style and format of his popular show, and jokes about doubling down on all the things that online trolls have been making fun of him for.

Koffee with Karan Season 7 Recap
Gone are the days where you’d have to wait for years to see another season of Koffee with Karan. Karan Johar’s celebrity talk-show has had a speedy turnaround ever since shifting to a streaming exclusive format in 2022. The show moved to streaming exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar when Season 7 launched back in July 2022.
However with only 12 interviews and one episode dedicated to the Koffee Awards, Season 7 was much shorter than its predecessors which featured between 20-22 interviews. Season 7’s guestlist was also more diverse than the last few seasons, with Karan Johar extending invitations beyond Bollywood’s A-listers, and including more rising artists, regional celebrities, and OTT reality stars to the show’s roster.
The last season saw a more promotional approach to guest pairings, with Karan Johar interviewing guests that were due to share screen space in the near future, as opposed to the previous seasons where the pairings were aligned more to the guests personal equations with each other.

As hinted in the new teaser, Season 8 of Koffee with Karan will most likely continue to expand its guest roster and feature a more diverse and inclusive lineup of guests. The first episode of the new season will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on 26th October, 2023. The show will continue to follow a weekly episodic release schedule for the rest of the episodes in the season.
If past trends are any indication, then all eyes are on Alia Bhatt, the star who now has a three season long streak of being opening guest for Koffee with Karan. Since her last appearance, Alia Bhatt has had her first child, made her Hollywood debut with the Netflix film Heart of Stone, and witnessed grand box-office success with her recent Bollywood film Rocky Aur Rani, where she collaborated with Karan Johar, ensuring that the first episode will have a cup full of content to pour over if her opening streak continues.
While there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the popular talk-show, fans are hopeful that the star will make an appearance given that he’s delivered two 1000 crore box-office successes this year, and is on track to release his third blockbuster right at the close of 2023. Amongst other guest predictions we’re hopeful to see Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and the rest of the newcomer cast from The Archies make their Koffee debut this season.
Overall, we expect the new season to follow a similar format as Season 7, with guests getting to choose the rapid-fire winners for each episode. The episode list for Season 8 isn’t out yet, but it’s safe to assume that the latest season will have at least the same number of episodes as Season 7 if not more.
