Obi-Wan Kenobi is a miniseries created by Lucasfilm for Disney+. The long-awaited sci-fi TV show takes place within the Star Wars canonical universe, telling the untold story of Obi-Wan's adventures while hiding on Tatooine.
Having previously starred as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy, Ewan McGregor reprises the titular role for the first time in live action since 2005. The miniseries also marks Hayden Christensen’s return to the role of Anakin Skywalker a.k.a Darth Vader. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse return to the Star Wars saga as Lars Owen Lars and Beru Whitesun – the couple tasked with raising Luke Skywalker on Tatooine.
The Disney+ miniseries introduces The Grand Inquisitor in live action for the first time. The character appears in several episodes of the animated TV show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and is infamous for holding the position as the Galactic Empire’s highest-ranking Inquisitor. The iconic villain is played by Rupert Friend. Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered on Disney+ on May 27nd, 2022.
