Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2

Synopsis

Set in the 23rd century in the years before Star Trek: The Original Series, Captain Pike leads a set of expeditions exploring new planets and meeting new life forms with his trusted crew that includes Spock, Uhura, M’Benga, Number One and Christine Chapel. Season 2 will see challenges not just from the alien planets outside the control room but from within it as well. The legendary Captain James T. Kirk is set to make an appearance while USS Enterprise Captain Christopher Pike must face the tragic destiny he has already foreseen. Emotional complications aren’t far off for the crew of the USS Enterprise, especially with the bourgeoning love triangle between Spock, T’Pring and nurse Christine Chapel.

What to know

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 is an upcoming episodic sci-fi television series inspired by the original 1960s Gene Rodenberry-produced cult classic TV show. Season 2 is created by Alex Kurtzman, who signed on to oversee the production of Star Trek television programs with CBS Television Studios after writing the screenplay for Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek: Into the Darkness (2013). Executive producer and co-show runner Henry Alonso Myers also returns.

James T. Kirk is played by Paul Wesley, who plays the iconic character in his younger years while working as an officer on the USS Farrgut. He joins Strange New World's returning cast members Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn – who reprise their roles as Pike, Spock and Number One.
