Atlantis is once again threatened in this sequel to 2018’s Aquaman. Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, must protect his home by forming an unlikely alliance in order to save his kingdom and the planet. Jason Mamoa plays the title role in this superhero film about the mysterious world of the underwater kingdoms. Joining him are several characters from the movie’s predecessor, including Amber Heard, who plays Mera the princess of Xebel and daughter of King Nereus, played by Willem Dafoe. Patrick Wilson also returns as Orm Marius, Arthur’s half-brother and the former ruler of Atlantis. Yahya Abdul-Mateen is back to play Black Manta, the cunning pirate and villain of the first film. Director James Wan will also be at the helm of this film and writing credits go to David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The duo previously worked together on The Conjuring 2.
