Sheridan is known as the writer and creator of Yellowstone, 1883, and 1923. It is created by Chad Feehan who also serves as showrunner. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is produced by Bosque Ranch Productions, Yoruba Saxon, 101 Studios, and MTV Entertainment Studios for Paramount+.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves stars David Oyelowo in the titular role as a federal peace officer in Arkansas. Dennis Quaid plays Deputy U.S. Marshal Sherill Lynn. Forrest Goodluck stars as Billy Crow. Lauren E. Banks plays Jennie Reeves while Barry Pepper stars as Esau Piece. The cast also includes Demi Singleton, Grantham Coleman, Donald Sutherland, Garrett Hedlund, and Shea Whigham.
