Jurassic Park (1993)

Jurassic Park III (2001)
Joe Johnston directed the third installment in 2001 with Jurassic Park III. Sam Neill returned to his role of Dr. Alan Grant after eight years while Laura Dern briefly cameos as Ellie Sattler. William H. Macy, Téa Leoni, Alessandro Nivola, Trevor Morgan, and Michael Jeter round out the cast with a story that follows a divorced couple asking Dr. Grant to help them find their missing son on the island of Isla Sorna. The film went on to become the eighth highest-grossing movie of that year, earning over $368 million worldwide. Jurassic World (2015)
After a 14 year hiatus, the Jurassic franchise was brought back to life with Jurassic World, launching a new trilogy of films. Colin Trevorrow took the reins on this reboot led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and starred Vincent D'Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, and Irrfan Khan. BD Wong reprised his role as Dr. Henry Wu from the first film. Set decades after Jurassic Park, Jurassic World follows a group fighting to survive when a genetically modified dinosaur escapes, throwing the once-thriving amusement park into chaos. Jurassic World dominated the box office, earning over $1 billion worldwide and becoming the second highest-grossing film of that year behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It also has one of the highest Rotten Tomatoes scores of the entire franchise at 72%.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
J.A. Bayona directed the second film in this modern Jurassic era with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returned as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively. BD Wong also reprised his original role, while Jeff Goldblum made his comeback to the franchise after 20 years. New cast members include Toby Jones, Ted Levine, and Rafe Spall. The film follows Owen and Claire returning to Isla Nublar to rescue dinosaurs from a volcanic eruption, only to learn mercenaries plan to smuggle them to the mainland. Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Colin Trevorrow returned to helm the final entry in the new Jurassic World trilogy with Jurassic World Dominion in 2022. For the first time since the original 1993 installment, the iconic trio of Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill reprised their respective roles in Dominion. DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie were new additions to the cast. Set four years after Fallen Kingdom, dinosaurs now live alongside humans. Owen and Claire launch a rescue mission while Dr. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm strive to expose Biosyn's conspiracy. Dominion marks the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of the entire Jurassic franchise, however it also earned $1 billion at the box office. It became the third highest-grossing film of 2022 behind Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick.
Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
Jurassic World Rebirth marks the fourth film in the Jurassic World series with Gareth Edwards directing a new team venturing to the original Jurassic Park island which is now considered the most dangerous place on Earth.
